'THe red house' earthquake recovery refurbishment

The “Red House” is a prominent New Zealand historical building which is protected by The Heritage Trust. Fortunately, it was saved from the Christchurch earthquake mainly due to its lightweight construction. This gem of a timber building has had various uses throughout its life dating back nearly hundred years ago. Unfortunately, the residential cottage extension at the back was destroyed. The new owners wanted to build a new family home and
convert the old historic “Red House” into their new photography studio.
